Introduce yourself and your business:
We are Karen and Elena-Jane, a mum and (grown up baby!) daughter team offering natural therapies to not only keep you well pre, during and post pregnancy but to help all the family at any stage in life recover more promptly from illness, injuries and surgery. We use homeopathics, essential oils, herbs, natural products and supplements for anyone at any age but specialise in food intolerances, allergens, injuries and seeing mums to be, mums, babies, dads and the rest of the family through the exciting pregnancy, labour and post-partum period. We are the only people in Wiltshire and Dorset to use highly accurate, non-invasive, safe, bioresonance testing methods to detect what the issues are for you and to recommend a suitable solution.
When did you start your small business and why?
I trained after homeopathy impressed me when Elena-Jane’s debilitating throat infections of two years permanently disappeared after two weeks of treatment. I also had relief for my Rosacea of 14 years after long term conventional treatments did nothing. Homeopathy relieved my problem and gave me greater energy too. It’s been particularly useful in helping me navigate my children through childhood and growing up. Elena-Jane had back problems for 10 years which she has now totally recovered from using homeopathy, chiropractic and massage and this is why she is now a massage therapist specialising in pregnancy, the only ScarWork therapist in the Bournemouth area (great for caesarean scars), bioresonance therapist and postpartum support.
Tell us about your most memorable or greatest achievement so far:
The most memorable moments are when people tell us the feel better. Those moment never cease to make us appreciate the trust people put in us to help them.
Who is your biggest influence or role model?
Undoubtedly my husband (dad!). He is a successful businessman and always know what to do! He is an IT guru and without him we would be invisible to the world! We hope to emulate his success and make him proud of us.
What do you hope to bring to Dorset Bump to Baby Show 2018?
We hope to expose people to the usefulness of natural therapies at this exciting time of life particularly when conventional means of maintaining or returning you to health may be more limited.
What’s next for The Natural Solution?
We want to increase the exposure of The Natural Solution to people in the Bournemouth and surrounding areas and perhaps have our own multi therapy treatment place in the future.
If you could give one piece of advice for a new mum what would it be?
There is so much overwhelming advice available. Do it your way – use the information that’s right for you and put aside that which isn’t.
Just for fun...
City or Countryside?
Depends. Bournemouth have everything in a city when you need convenience but it’s nice to get out and walk along the cliffs from Boscombe to Hengistbury Head and feel the sea air.
Bump or Baby?
Definitely baby. Elena-Jane is such a great complement to me. We really get on well and gel together as business partners in our mission to make people feel better, naturally. I just wouldn’t be without her.
Chocolate or Chia Seeds?
For me it’s chia seed. I gave up chocolate two years ago after my first food intolerance test showed chocolate as weakening my system. I could eat it now but have no cravings anymore so choose not to. For Elena-Jane – it’s chocolate!
Mumpreneur or woman in business?
Women in business
Tea or Coffee?
Reading a book or watching a film?
Reading the internet for me! Elena-Jane is a chiropractic student at AECC so she’s always got her head in anatomy books!
Obsessively Tidy or Organised Chaos?
Happy with organised chaos as long as it’s a working mess!
